1 Put 1000ml of water in a bowl and dissolve

1 sachet (50g) of Senseo Descaler in the water.

2 Fill the water reservoir up to the MAX level with the mixture of descaler and water. Note: Depending on the size of the water reservoir, there may be some descaler mixture left after the water reservoir is filled to the MAX level. In that case, repeat the descaling procedure with the remaining descaler mixture (see step 8).

3 Place the water reservoir back onto the coffee machine and press the on/off button. The machine is ready for use when the indicator light stops flashing and lights up continuously.

4 Place the 1-cup pod holder in the coffee machine, preferably with a used coffee pod in it.This pod serves as a '

filter'

to prevent the sieve in the pod holder from getting clogged with scale residues.

5 Close the lid and lock it properly.

6 Put a bowl with a capacity of at least 1500ml under the coffee spout to collect the descaler mixture.

7 Press the 2-cup button and let the machine operate. Repeat this until the water reservoir is empty. Never descale the SENSEO coffee machine with the lid open. Make sure the lid is properly locked.

8 If there is still some of the 1000ml of descaler mixture left, fill the water reservoir with it.Then repeat steps

3 to 7.

9 Empty the water reservoir to remove any remaining descaler mixture.

10 Rinse the machine at least

2 times by repeating steps

2 to 7, now using fresh water. Do not refill the water reservoir with used hot water.

11 Clean the pod holder after descaling to prevent the sieve in the centre from getting clogged.
