3 H igh Speed Ring2block wear tester . The stress distribution during friction and wear processwas calculated byANSYS . SEM was used to observe the ceram ic surface. D ifferent additives have a profound effect on the wear resistance of the A l2 O3 2based ceram ic materials . The wear rates of the A l2 O3 2based ceram ics increased with the increase of the ratio of elastic modulus and hardness, and decreased with the increase of fracture toughness . Adhesive wearwas the predom inantwearmechanism forA l2 O3 /TiC. W hile the wear mecha2 nis m of A l2 O3 /Ti(C,N) and A l2 O3 /SiCw was abrasive wear .
