Vikram Jandhyala is Vice Provost for Innovation at the University ofWashington, Executive Director of CoMotion, and Professor and former Chair inthe Department of Electrical Engineering. He is founding UW director of theUW-PNNL Northwest Institute for Advanced Computing (NIAC), and directs theApplied Computational Engineering (ACE) lab in UW EE. Vikram Jandhyala received the BTech in electrical engineering fromthe Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1989, and the MS and PhD degreesin electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaignin

1995 and 1998, respectively. After spending two years in the electronicdesign automation software industry at Ansoft Corporation (acquired by Ansys),he joined UW EE in 2000. His research has been funded by DARPA, thesemiconductor industry, national labs, DoD, SBIR/STTR programs, and NSF,including an NSF CAREER award, and has received awards from UIUC, IEEE, UW, andNASA. He founded, along with his students in 2006, Physware (Nimbic), aventure-backed simulation software company which was acquired by Mentor Graphicsin 2014. He was chair of the UW EE department from

2011 to 2014, led the UWEE professional master's program as faculty director through early growth in2009 and 2010, and was an inaugural UW C4Cpresidential entrepreneurial faculty fellow in 2011.
