Changes from HSIC V1.1 to HSIC V2.0 (with reference to ISIC Rev. 4) 2.1 The general structure of HSIC V1.1 is changed from a 4-level to a 5-level hierarchical system in HSIC V2.0. More details are introduced especially at the first two levels in the services sectors to reflect its increasing significance in the Hong Kong economy. The number of top level groupings has been increased from

Small variations are introduced in the third and fourth levels (i.e. 3- and 4-digit) in HSIC V2.0 compared with ISIC Rev. 4. 2.3 Six-digit codes of HSIC V2.0, constituting its fifth level, are defined to meet local classification needs. Many of them have their 6-digit counterparts in HSIC V1.1, indicating that the economic activities they represent continue to be of interest to users.
