Farewell ceremony for Vice Chancellor, Professor Rajesh Chandra On November 9, 2018, the second semester graduation ceremony of the CI-USP and the farewell ceremony to the Vice-Chancellor and President of USP, Professor Rajesh Chandra was held at the main campus of USP. More than

70 students from the CI-USP attended the graduation ceremony. After a semester'

s study, the students had a smile on their faces, they were talking with their classmates and friends, taking photoes. The performance space was filled with joy. In addition to the students, the guests attending the graduation ceremony included the Vice- Chancellor and President of USP, Professor Rajesh Chandra and his wife;

Dr. Akanisi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Law and Education of USP;

Counselor Huang Xuehu of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji;

Mr. Wang Gang, Secretary of the China Railway First Group in Fiji, and Mr. Lin Hongneng, Manager of the CCECC as well as the Fiji Medias. At six o'

clock in the evening, the host of the graduation ceremony, Mosese Waqavonovono &

Sharyne Fong, announced that the graduation ceremony officially began. They are also advanced

2 students. This is the first time that the CI-USP students hosting the graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony is divided into three parts, the graduation certificate conferment, the talent show and the recognition of outstanding students. The beginner one students brought a most popular dances in China - the square dance named The Loved Ones , the lovely rhythm and dance, the enthusiastic students made the scene full of joyful atmosphere, everyone clapped together to cheer the slightly shy students, and at the end they gave a warm applause. After the performance of beginner one students, the beginners'

class was awarded a certificate, which was presented by Dr. Akanisi. They are the students who had just studied a semester of Chinese for various reasons. They chose to start learning a strange and difficult language. Starting from scratch, starting with a single initial and finals. They must have gone through a lot of difficult times during the study, maybe some of them wanted to give up, but in the end they all stood here. Every year, many people are eager to start learning Chinese with great enthusiasm. However, with completely different language system and complicated Chinese characters make many people feel frustrated. Some of them give up halfway, and some people work hard day and night, and finally completed the course with a certificate. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. The perfect end of the beginner one is also the beginning of a new stage of learning. Everyone holds a certificate and is full of pride and joy. Next, the intermediate class brought a cute and lovely classic Chinese song, Lovable you, Young friends meet together, felt happy and fell in love , the song reflects the students love for Chinese language and culture. Intermediate students have studied Chinese language for more than two years. They are all old friends of the CI-USP. Every semester we can see their Chinese are constantly improving. They are growing together with CI-USP. The last item is brought by the advanced class, a Chinese song We have been to many places. We have been to many places, Shijiazhuang, Beijing, Changzhou, Wuxi, Suzhou, Changzhou, and then from Changchun to Shenyang , many cities, large and small, have been sung into this song. Some students in the advanced class have been studying at the CI-USP since the first day of the establishment of the Institute. They are not just students of the CI- USP but more like old friends. They have witnessed the growth and developments of the institute. After the issuance of the graduation certificates, it is the awarding certificates for outstanding students.
