VOCs排放特征、排放清单及其反应活性究;
VOCs、机 动车排气、室内空气污染控制技术研究与开发;
VOCs的非热等离子体及催化净化技术研发等. 承担项目: 主持VOCs和细粒子(PM2.5)的减排政策研究、基础理论研究和技术开发领域的研究课题40余项,包括国家环保公益项目1项, 国家 863计划 课题2项,NSFC-广东省联合基金1项、国家自然科学基金面上项目3项,国家环保部项目8项,广东省重大科技专项2 项等. 学术成果: 主讲本科、硕士生学位课程3门和其它课程4门,其中本科课程《Air Pollution Control Engineering/大气污染控制工程》为第一批校 级精品课程;
共培养博士和硕士研究生100余名(已毕业博士8名,硕士70余名)以及青年教师8名. 发表论文300余篇,其中在Atmos.Environ.;

Chem. Eng. J等发表SCI论文200余篇.申请中国专利22件,含16件发明专利(8件已获授权)和6件实用新型专利.研发了VOCs多种吸附和催化功能材料,蓄热(催化)燃烧技术等,开发的VOCs控 制成套技术和装备达到国际先进水平,推广应用100多套,获得中国专利优秀奖1项和广东省科技奖二等奖2项.开发的治理技术在全 球最大的电子垃圾拆解基地废气整治工程中成功应用.完成科技成果鉴定共6项.建有80余个废气治理工程.编写《新化工词典(环 境与环境化工部分)》(主编)、《环保科普丛书――VOCs污染防治知识问答》(主编)等书4本;
负责编撰广东省地方标准4项(3项完 成,1项在编)和国家标准2项(在编).长期服务于国家、地方及(化工)园区VOCs污染治理.参与大气污染防治 国十条 、国家 环境保护 十二五 规划研究、重点区域 十二五 规划和 十三五 总量控制规划等国家重要政策的研究与制订;
服务于G20峰会、广州 亚运等国家重大事件的空气质量保障并获得表彰. 中国科学院生态环境研究中心、清华大学、北京大学、中国环境科学研究院、国家环保部华南环境科学研究所、中国科学院院广 州地化所、中山大学等单位的同行专家一致评价叶代启教授领导的学术团队的科研水平、研发能力处于广东省领先地位,在国内外 亦有较大的影响. 近五年发表论文代表作: 1.
