iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii 1995-96 Edition ? Test and Score Data Summary ? The TOEFL program recently surveyed TOEFL score recipients as part of the TOEFL

2000 project, a research and development effort to develop a new TOEFL test.

As part of that survey, several hundred score users provided information on how they currently use TOEFL score report information. Tables 1-3 summarize the ranges of TOEFL scores that undergraduate and graduate programs reported as required for beginning academic work at their institutions, the situations in which international students are not required to submit TOEFL scores, and the score report information other than scores that is used. It should be noted that the survey respondents are not necessarily representative of the general population of TOEFL score users. Table

1 gives ranges of TOEFL scores required for undergraduate and graduate admissions in colleges and universities where English is the language of instruction. Table
